Peter & Glenn, regarding the right click not working for windows users. I have this problem too, however, clicking the scroll wheel give me the right-click edit menu options without changing any preferences.

Can we move this topic from the comment wall to a dedicated "discussion"?

Americo, I'm looking for your world (although I'm not sure if I know what I'm doing ....) can't see it yet.

Can we move this topic from the comment wall to a dedicated "discussion"?

I am trying to have a "Cobalt world" 24/7 available. Please try to access it via LDAP. I need to learn many things butis important for me to know if my "world" is "visitable". Thanks.

Glenn,

1. Problems loading worlds
Please see my response to Mike (who experienced the same issue).

2. Right click editing not working

This is a bug that affects Windows users.

The first time you run a new version of Cobalt you'll need to set a preference in Cobalt so that it understands you're using a 3 button mouse.

To fix:

1. Click on the red ball icon in the top left corner of the window.
2. Select VM preferences > Mouse Mapping > 3 Button mouse.

Note: Until we fix the bug you MUST set this preference each time you download a new build of Cobalt.

Thanks for the reply, Peter. One of the problems I've encountered was mentioned in another discussion on this site (can't load worlds from my local machine or the web). Another is that I can't select an object by right-clicking on it. I should be able to, right? When I try, nothing happens. These are the kinds of things I need to ask about. I've looked at the Mantis and Google Groups sites, but they seemed more technically oriented than I am.
Hi, Whystler. Blink 3D is over. It was great while it lasted, but it just didn't catch on enough to generate the funds necessary for the developer (Clive Jackson) to continue with it. So, I am looking for another 3D world builder -- one which, like Cobalt, seems to have sufficient funds and community support to keep it going for a while. Users of Cobalt might like to check out Blink while it lingers (it will be available for a while yet at pelicancrossing.com, though it will not be developed any further). It has many features that Cobalt's developers might want to consider adding to Cobalt at some point.

Hi Glenn,

It would help to know some specifics about the problems you've encountered, but in general...

To get help with a technical problem post the details at our Google Groups Cobalt Dev site: http://groups.google.com/group/cobaltcroquet/

To report a bug go to our Mantis bug reporting database: http://croquet-src-01.oit.duke.edu/mantis/index.php

Somehow the message I put here months still sends me a note when there's an addition to the board. Crap Glenn, what's happened to Blink? When I saw you were posting here, I wondered what was happening, and then I went to check the Blink homepage. Shoot me a message at shawnjoh at hot mail doot com.

Hi, I'm new to Cobalt. I'm encountering problems creating and editing worlds. Where should I be reporting problems? Where should I be asking for help? Directions to the appropriate forum would be appreciated. Thanks.

Shasbat!
Actually I got it all wrong here. I mixed up classes and their roles.

I've filed out a chenge set, ready to install into Cobalt alpha1.rc9, using the file tool.

It's available at:
https://www.wuala.com/MoiAussi/Programme?key=ZNGEMJfVyFHA

I just tested it on a fresh image of alpha1.rc9

OOOPS!

It should read "left mouse button", where I wrote "right mouse button". Sorry.
